Our Staff

All Covenant ESL volunteers have been trained to teach English as a Second Language through the Presbyterian Church in America's Mission to North America (MNA). MNA has helped train more than 1,000 churches across the United States to conduct ESL programs.

We are using their ESL curriculum "Neighbor to Neighbor" which teaches life skills at five different levels.

Dave LANDIS

Dave LANDIS (蓝大卫)

Dave, also known by his Chinese name 蓝大卫, has traveled twice to Guilin, China to study Mandarin and continues learning online with his teacher. Through his own experience, he understands the challenges of learning a new language and adapting to a new culture.

Before entering education, Dave worked in Silicon Valley for several high-tech companies. Five years before he retired, he taught middle school students at a school managed by a Chinese church. Guided by his motto, "Love God, love people," Dave founded Covenant ESL to serve and support the immigrant community in Silicon Valley.

In addition to being the director, Dave is a teacher. He helps students refine their language skills for professional and academic contexts.
